First, download the Louisiana CDL Manual. Grab a pen, and some paper, and read the entire handbook and take a lot of notes! It’s important to pay attention while you’re studying, there is a lot of information if your mind starts to drift take a short break and then come back and focus. All the questions you’ll be asked on your written exams will come directly from the handbook, so study hard, and you can confidently know all the answers. Endorsements, such as tanker, multi-trailer, Hazmat, and combination vehicle may be especially viable for the state and will require other written exams, but the answers are all in your handbook. Once you’ve read the CDL handbook look back over your notes and if you see areas that are still fuzzy or unclear go back and reread those sections. Remember, you’re studying to not only pass the test but also keep you, your cargo, and others on the road safe.
If you’re feeling ready for the test, it’s helpful to read the handbook one more time to make sure the facts are fresh in your mind before heading over to your local OMV.
